We've all hear the statement "don't sweat the small stuff", but it's the small stuff that really matters.
I'm not talking about the wrinkles on your shirt, or the fly in your soup or the the little things that drive you bat-shit-crazy! I'm talking about the really important things that often get over looked or dismissed as meaningless actions. My prospective has recently changed after reading a very interesting book, The Slight Edge. Little things to matter and they matter a great deal! By doing little seemingly meaningless things everyday, you compound the little things into bigger things.
For example:
Holding the door open for someone that has their hands full.
Greeting your partner with a warm 'Hello' and a soft kiss.
Holding hands wile sitting on the couch.
Snuggling a few extra minutes with your child in the morning.
Noticing when your partner reaches over to put his hand on your lap while he is driving.
Letting your child stay up 5 more minutes at night (what's 5 minutes anyway)
When walking by your partner, reach out and touch him.
Steal as many kisses as possible.
Hug your partner and your children everyday.
Say something sweet even if you are angry.
Show up with a smile and a great attitude.
Compliment someone today.
Call an old friend you haven't talked to in a while.
Send a hand written Thank you note.
Tell someone I'm sorry.
The list goes on and on.. It's the little things in life that really matter.

Still clueless....
I realized something about myself ... I'm a very serious person, I'm difficult to get a long with & I'm pushy. Which could translate into, I'm strong, I'm independent and I'm passionate about my beliefs.
No, I'm just serious, difficult and pushy..... I have a hard time letting go. Not just letting go of the past, but in general. I'm always reserved somehow. There is a barrier that won't allow me to completely let go and enjoy myself and have others enjoy me.
It's fear that stops me dead in my tracks every time. I wish I could tell you what it is that I am afraid of. Is it fear of letting someone close enough to see me for who I am? But.. who am I anyway?
I'm Serious, I'm independent, I'm needy, I'm pushy, I'm difficult to get a long with, I'm passionate about my beliefs, I'm gentle, I'm fierce, I'm lonely, I'm happy, I'm sad and I'm scared.....
And most of all I'm still clueless.....

I'm not in the Matrix yet......
I, like most people, like things in a certain way. I have habits and routines that are settled deep within my psyche. Some of these habits and routines are and have worked for me in the life's journey but most have not and aren't working for me. The question is, how do you change that? Sure, the idea of changing ones habits and or routines sounds easy, but in reality... it's not.
We, or I, have become comfortably numb. On auto pilot per say. Some people have said, it's all about will power, but I disagree. Removing old habits and routines takes a tremendous amount of concentration, considering most lie deep in our subconscious minds. I think that's probably the reason why most people give up on giving up the things that aren't working for them.
Why do I always repeat the same patterns in life? I mean, really, with all the pain that comes along with repeating the same mistakes over and over again, you'd think I'd GET IT! I sometimes wish I could just reboot my thoughts, my heart and myself like you can a computer and start over. A clean Slate!
I guess... I'm not in the Matrix yet....

With Saturn in Cancer, your mission is to nourish humanity and the Earth, to honor the Feminine, and to help create genuine security on the planet. You are here to build foundations of support, both for yourself and others. These foundations might take the form of nourishing food, emotional healing, or physical homes. Ultimately, your role is that of a healer, connecting deeply with others and, through your sensitivity and compassion, providing the loving support that fosters growth.
Inner Work: Meeting Your Demons
Saturn’s sign shows your fears, blocks and challenges based on childhood experiences or family background. With Saturn in Cancer, early emotional wounding often comes in the form of not feeling nurtured by your mother, even if you were well provided for on a material level. Feelings of abandonment and a craving for security often result, which can show up in relationships as neediness and over-dependence.If you struggle as an adult with eating disorders, addictions, and/or co-dependency, your core mother issues are probably at the root. Your challenge is to become your own mother, to give yourself the nourishment that you felt deprived of as a child and build a strong internal foundation of self-love and emotional support. With Saturn in Cancer, you must take responsibility for creating your own security, rather than looking to others to provide it for you.
You may have gotten the message that you were “too sensitive” and that it wasn’t appropriate to express the depth and intensity of your emotions. To protect your squishy vulnerability, Saturn in Cancer tends to build a tough, crab-like outer shell. This armor keeps you “safe,” but also keeps you from experiencing true intimacy, and from fully participating in the emotional realm. The mask you wear might be maternal – supporting and taking care of others – but the opportunity to connect deeply is elusive until you’re willing to risk showing your own vulnerability.
While you do require some protection because of your extreme sensitivity and your tendency to take on others’ emotions, you can set clear emotional boundaries instead of hiding inside your shell. Vulnerability and sensitivity are your gifts, and when you express these parts of yourself, you create the intimacy and security you desire.
Internally, you might be in a state of perpetual emotional overwhelm, at the mercy of your constantly fluctuating feelings. Conversely, you may have shut down your emotions entirely, too afraid to feel pain along with love and joy. You might also alternate between these two extremes of emotional roller coaster and emotional zombie. The Saturn in Cancer inner mission is to let yourself feel all of your feelings, without judgment, neither controlling nor being controlled by them. You are here to flow with the tides, expressing the natural highs and lows of the feminine force.
Steps Toward Manifesting Your Mission
In order to successfully step into your Saturn in Cancer mission to mother the world, you have to begin by mothering yourself. How you feed yourself is a good place to start. Cancer rules the stomach and the breasts – the parts of the body that give and receive nourishment. Saturn tends toward extremes, so you might routinely deny yourself fulfillment through eating, or you might over-indulge in decadent dining in an attempt to “stuff” your emotions.Focus on what foods make your body feel nurtured and nourished, rather than identifying foods as good or bad, and make time at least once a week to cook a special meal for yourself. If your relationship to food feels out of control, it might be helpful to find a support group for eating disorders. Sharing your inner world with others, and taking the risk to show your vulnerability, provides a valuable opportunity for healing.
Affirm to yourself: It is safe to reveal my inner world. I deserve nourishment and support.
To feel secure, you need to create a home base that provides you with a solid foundation. With Saturn in Cancer, your home might look more like a garage sale waiting to happen than a comfortable and efficient living space. Cancer has a strong attachment to the past and has the habit of collecting memorabilia and assorted clutter. Ask yourself, what kind of environment do you need to feel nourished? Enlist the support of trusted friends to help you sort through the chaos and determine what you truly want and need, and let go of the rest.
Affirm: I let go easily. My security comes from within.
On the other hand, you may have neglected building your nest altogether, unable to settle down in any one spot for too long. Or, your living space might feel cold and sparse. Maybe you don’t want to let yourself get too comfortable, for fear of having that comfort taken away from you. Start small, perhaps just with one room, and buy a few items (pillows, candles, houseplants) that make the space feel more like home.
Affirm: I deserve a safe and beautiful home.
To get to the root of your mother issues, it can be helpful to learn about your ancestors, especially your maternal line. You might unconsciously express or replicate old patterns from your family past, and awareness of these patterns helps you to make better choices in the present. Saturn in Cancer needs to honor ancestors and family traditions without falling victim to them. You have the power to choose which aspects of your family past are beneficial and deserve to be carried into the future.
Connecting with the Great Mother is another way to transform and heal your relationship with your personal mother. Whether you are a man or a woman, you are here to honor the feminine principle – the Great Goddess who is mother to us all – and to cultivate your feminine powers of creation and healing. Learn about Goddess-worshippers of the past and present, and, if it feels right for you, find ways to participate in these traditions.
The Moon is your ally and your teacher. Study her phases, and pay attention to how you feel as she waxes and wanes. Gaze at the Moon, talk to the Moon, listen to the Moon, and don’t be afraid to get a little loony. The midnight hour is your time for riding the waves of your deepest feelings and imagination. When you feel connected to the Source, your inner roots, you experience the security and nourishment you crave.
Your Highest Potential
When you have created a strong inner foundation of self-love, and have established a secure and comfortable home base, you are ready to manifest your mission in the outer world. Your work might be in the healing professions, as a massage therapist, counselor, herbalist, or nurse. Or, you might work with homes, as a builder, real estate agent, or interior decorator. You might nourish others directly by working in the restaurant or food business. You could also work as an artist, writer or actor, sharing the richness of your inner world with the public.Whatever form your work takes, your ultimate purpose is to bring healing, nourishment, and security to the planet. Remember that your work is far more valuable to the Universe if you feel safe and comfortable while you accomplish your mission.
The North Node: Your Mission and How to Get There
The North Node shows where you're going and a way of being that works for you in this lifetime: your "True North." The sign of the North Node is an energy that's new for you on a soul level, so it always feels alien and challenging, requiring a leap of faith to move in that direction. When you take that leap and embrace this new energy, you receive support and validation from the Universe, and feel the satisfaction of accomplishing your life's mission. The South Node: Been There, Done That
The South Node, which is always opposite the North Node, indicates past-life experience as related to this incarnation. The sign of the South Node represents an energy that you have mastered and possibly overdone, so that it no longer works for you. While this way of being feels comfortable, when you operate through these old patterns, you block the manifestation of your desires and feel unfulfilled. The Leap of Faith
Scorpio, a Water sign, lives in the emotional depths. Co-ruled by Mars, the God of War, and Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld, Scorpio thrives on intensity and has an affinity for the Dark Side. Scorpio needs to live every day like it’s the last, and undergoes multiple deaths and rebirths throughout her life.As the Scorpion, Scorpio stings others out of fear. At its higher level, Scorpio is the Eagle, soaring above the petty power struggles of society to obtain a higher perspective. Ultimately, Scorpio becomes the Phoenix, the bird of Indian mythology who bursts into flames and is then reborn from the ashes. Her song is so beautiful that everyone stops to listen, and remembers what is truly important to them.
With your North Node in Scorpio, you are here to engage with the magical mysteries of life, and to merge your energy with others to generate increased power. Your great leap of faith – which prompts a giant leap toward manifesting your mission – is to risk physical comfort and material security for the sake of living your passionate ideals. When you follow your passions, you become a healer and transformer, inspiring others to live in alignment with their values.
Reversing the Program
The South Node reveals our internal programming from past lives, our path of least resistance, and the ruts we get caught in. Even though we may recognize early on that these ways of being don’t serve us, they’re deeply embedded in our psyche, and often unconscious, so they can be hard habits to kick. With your South Node in Taurus, your challenge is to release patterns of refusing help, making material security your top priority, avoiding change, and doing things the hard way.You have had extensive past-life experience practicing self-reliance and self-sufficiency, perhaps as a farmer or builder. You learned how to take the necessary practical steps to create a material base of support, and your survival depended on conserving your resources. During these lifetimes, you gained your sense of self-worth and security from what you manifested in the physical world – your money and possessions – and from maintaining the status quo.
You may come into this life with an over-attachment to material security, and a fear of merging your energy and resources with another. Believing that you have to do everything yourself, you might view asking for support as a sign of weakness. You might operate from the unconscious assumption that you have to achieve complete self-sufficiency, through accumulating money and possessions, before you can create the intimate relationships you desire and act on your passions in the world. As you have probably realized, this way of being no longer works for you.
With the North Node in Scorpio, you are scheduled to achieve genuine security when you are willing to risk material status and comfort for the sake of your passions and ideals. You are learning to pay attention to and value levels of reality beyond the physical world. When you let go of possessiveness and an exaggerated concern with accumulation, you open the way for increased vitality and power to enter your life. When you share your energy and resources with others, and accept assistance in the form of ideas and material support, you gain strength and confidence.
Moving into Mission
In order to move toward your mission of healer, magician and transformer, find ways to let go, regenerate, and take risks:- Identify the activities and relationships in your life that feel stagnant or energy-draining, and take the necessary steps to responsibly release them.
- Give away or otherwise let go of the possessions that you don’t genuinely need or love.
- Ask for help from others, starting with small things (like cleaning out your house).
- Volunteer your time and talents for a cause that you feel passionate about. Hospice, homeless or domestic violence shelters, and crisis hotlines are especially appropriate.

- Do something that scares you.

Healing affirmations: My power expands when I merge with others. Taking risks enhances my vitality.
